Address: 230 C Mountain Road Suffield, CT 06078 Directions To Our Offices from  Hours: Mon-Thurs: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Lunch: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm), Fri: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm Phone: (860) 668-3876 Fax: (860) 386-6696 E-mail: gturbet@suffieldtownhall.com The Town Engineer: -Works on improvement projects to roads, drainage systems, bridges, parking lots. -Advises Town agencies on projects -Coordinates with outside consultants working on large improvement projects -Coordinates with State personnel on projects involving their facilities or related to grant funds -Works with surveyors on maps or easement plans required for Town projects -Advises the Zoning and Planning Commission on all proposed subdivisions and site plans including design reviews during the application process -Oversees field inspection during construction and performance bond process -Works on grant administration activities on engineering projects -Develops and upgrades Town maps -Presents new roads for acceptance at Town Meetings and upgrades Town and non-Town road lists -Supervises pavement management program and implements improvement projects under the program -Responds to road and drainage complaints.
In 2002, the Town Engineer's duties were expanded to include the position of a Conservation Consultant for the Inland Wetland (Conservation) Commission. The duties associated with this position include: -Application reviews -Pre-application meetings/reviews -Drainage analysis on larger subdivision and emphasis on drainage outfalls that discharge to wetlands/watercourses -Attendance at meetings with decision/condition recommendations -Overseeing soil and erosion control inspection program -Investigating wetland violations and initiating appropriate responses -Consulting with soil scientist on technical questions/concerns
