    3/3/2014 - Results of Town Meeting 2-27-14
    Results of the Special Town Meeting held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Suffield Middle School :

    1. To enact an ordinance concerning Exemption of Real and Personal Property Acquired by Certain Tax Exempt Institutions.

    Resolved: That the Town Meeting of the Town of Suffield authorizes the adoption of an
    Ordinance establishing a tax exemption program for real and personal property acquired by
    certain tax-exempt institutions.
    Further Resolved: That the Town Clerk, in consultation with the Board of Selectmen, determine
    the placement of the foregoing Ordinance in the Suffield Town Code, and shall make the
    necessary changes to the numbering of the ordinances section(s) to ensure proper placement of
    the ordinances in the Suffield Town Code.

    Unanimous vote in favor.


    2. To enact an ordinance concerning Fats, Oils and Greases (FOG) on behalf of the
    Water Pollution Control Authority.

    Resolved: That the Town Meeting of the Town of Suffield authorizes the adoption of a FOG
    Pretreatment Ordinance establishing requirements for commercial facilities that generate FOG
    in their wastewater flow.
    Further Resolved: That the Town Clerk, in consultation with the Board of Selectmen, determine
    the placement of the foregoing Ordinance in the Suffield Town Code, and shall make the
    necessary changes to the numbering of the ordinances section(s) to ensure proper placement of
    the ordinances in the Suffield Town Code.

    Unanimous vote in favor.


    3. To authorize acceptance of the Historic Restoration Fund grant from the State Historic
    Preservation Office in the amount of $200,000.

    Resolved: That the Town Meeting of the Town of Suffield authorizes the acceptance and the
    expenditure of a Historic Restoration Fund Grant from the State of Connecticut in the amount of
    $200,000 for accessibility improvements to the Kent Memorial Library.
    Further Resolved: That Edward G. McAnaney, First Selectman, is empowered to execute and deliver in the name and on behalf of this municipal corporation a certain contract with the State of Connecticut, Department of Economic and Community Development, and to affix the corporate seal, if any.

    Unanimous vote in favor.


    4. To accept three new roads: LaFountain Road and Sutula Road (Sunset Point Subdivision) and Lise Circle (Malec Farm Subdivision).

    Resolved, That the Town Meeting of the Town of Suffield accept as public roads, LaFountain
    Road and Sutula Road of the Sunset Point Subdivision and Lise Circle of the Malec Farms
    Subdivision as recommended by the Board of Selectmen and approved by the Zoning and Planning Commission.

    Unanimous vote in favor.
